The first time I've listened to Our Love To Admire, I really fell in love with the songs and a story began running in my head after reading the lyrics.
Then I followed my sister (a big fan of the band) to their gig in Paris on November, I really enjoyed it and I felt like re-discovering their oldest albums that I've seldom listened to.
I found a very good material for my aim: drawing the story of Our Love To Admire... Indeed, NYC, my very first illustration, was a test to see what I was able to do with Interpol universe. Happy with the result, I went on with Stella, I began finding links between songs and finally I created a succession of short stories.
My calendar was half-full so I said to myself: let go on with Antics. Here I decided to keep the order of the songs and its metaphore of the boat sailing to Death...
Now that my calendar is finished, my most ambitious project concerning Our Love To Admire should begin but not yet! Unfortunetly I'm looking for a job and I don't have time for the moment...
So please be patient and thanks again for all your very nice comments, because those illustrations represent HOURS AND HOURS of personnal work!

Et ne t'inquiètes pas, je suis sure que les gens ont apprécié ton travail (j'ai du mal à envisager le contraire). Ils préfère juste polémiquer inutilement dans d'autres sujets au lieu de venir faire des commentaires malheureusement ! Je suis impressionnée en tout cas, c'est vraiment superbe ! J'adore TYOAC et Leif Erikson qui sont mes chansons préférées donc c'était pas acquis !

It could mean any number of things. Or they could just be lurkers and that's not so unusual. I thought these were pretty wonderful and not at all how I would've interpreted any of those songs but I can see it. This is fantastic work. Thank you for posting these. I can't wait to see what you do with OLTA.

Tu as un bon coup de crayon mais pas grand chose à dire, enfin du moins je trouve ça puéril, généralement les univers mi-elfique-erotico-depressif m'evoquent pas grand chose.

Sometimes it's good to explain!
To me although the illustrations are well drawn, the interpretation is absolutely far from my feelings about Interpol songs.
And the other thing I could add is that the characters are too much based on a single model, the silouhettes and faces are too automatic, there's a lack of personality for the characters. (not theartist ;) =

But then Emeline, thanks for sharing and as you see a lot of people love your stuff, so.... B)

PS: Girls, we're on an english-speaking board, I'm not a mod I know, but it would b better for all the other members if you could write in english. ;)

Karl, tu peux enlever le terme elfique de ta description, je ne vois pas le rapport, quant au côté "érotico-dépressif", il suffit de traduire les paroles d'Interpol pour le touver! Mais je respecte tout à fait ton point de vu, la critique fait parti de l'exposition et aide à s'améliorer. Là encore, et c'est universellement connu, l'interprétation de toute oeuvre artistique est personnelle, la mienne est puérile selon toi, je l'accepte...
