POSTING GENERALLY:

If you just want to write 'LOL' - Well, it is a little pointless is it not? Please avoid aimless, one worded responses. If you're going to post, at least post something of Interest.

Please avoid 'OMG PAUL/DNAK/ CARLSO/ SAAAAM IS S0 SEXIIII'. We know that already, captain obvious! It is silly, pointless, and if you really want to talk about that, there are plenty of other boards, or feel free to do so in your own domain. Please attempt to give both the band and yourselves a little self-respect.

You do not need to reply to every single photo.

If you would like to talk about personal things- background, avatars, location, age, sex, annnnnything else, use PM, chatrooms or messengers appropriately. Use the non-interpol forum section for all other related discussions.

Please try and be inclusive. It is not fair to have cliquey behaviour and in-references constantly when this is a community board.

ON TOPIC:

As funny as you all are, please could you all avoid going completely off topic from posting photos, as well as making personal comments towards both the band and relations of the band members. It is not fair to have to rake through posts for both forum users and moderators, and in addition, alot of the time it is not your place to comment on personal issues. (If there are personal issues or just conversation with other members of the forum, please keep that to the Interpol Chatroom, PM or alternative messengers.)

Please keep things relevant.

QUOTING:

Please, you do not need to keep quoting pictures again and again. If a picture is posted, then refer to the picture specifically, either by quoting the posters text, or using their username. Even more simply, if you're posting after them, you do not need to quote anything.
There is often no need to use the quote button.

POSTING PICTURES:

If you are posting similar pictures of pictures from the same websites/ URLs, please post single, or a few pictures and leave the rest as links. This stops the board from getting clogged by pictures, up as well as slowing down the connections of those who have slower Internet.

POSTING NEW TOPICS:

When posting new topics, please ensure an identical topic has not been posted before. When posting a live thread - it would be advisable to include the venue, city and date.

Furthermore, If you don't have anything productive to say, or if you are going to mouth off because you feel like it, you can find yourself another forum to post on too, as this one is not for you.

BANDWIDTH:

If you like a picture, save it and host it at your own webspace. You steal other peoples bandwidth if you use links from where they have uploaded the pictures, such as from photobucket. Each account has a alloted amount of bandwidth and the pictures will not show up if this has been used up, until the monthly period is up. It is highly unfair on the account holder.

In other words, do not link back from other peoples sites, upload to sites such as imageshack.us.

Relevant to this, it is another reason why you are kindly requested to remove Image Tags or posting the actual photo when quoting.

CREDIT:

Give credit where credit is due.

PROBLEMS:

If you find something offensive, please PM a moderator with the link and a reason to why you find it offensive and it will be dealt with appropriately.

If there is a problem with the site, please use the Rants and Raves forum.

If there is a personal problem with another user, please try and resolve it privately. Noone wants to hear you 'dirty laundry'.

If there is a problem with a user you feel you cannot deal with, please PM an adminstrator or moderator with the details and appropriate action will be taken and the situation reviewed.

- Do not post personal information about the band or the band’s families. Do not post pictures of family members, girlfriends, etc.. Any invasive information will be deleted.
It is not allowed to post personal photos stolen from personal LJ's/myspaces/etc. Posting non-press photos that don't belong to you personally is more than an invasion of privacy.
