MOGWAI/ROCK ACTION RECORDS NEWS
MAY 2005
!!! MOGWAI LIVE DATE IN GLASGOW!!!

Mogwai: ABC Glasgow June 8th
-----------------------------------------------
We are very pleased to announce that our only UK show this year will be
on Wednesday June the 8th on the opening night of the new Glasgow venue
The ABC in Sauchiehall Street. As the name suggests the venue is in the
building which previously occupied the ABC Cinema. Having seen the
venue we are immensely excited about being the first band to play in
it. Supports will be announced shortly. Tickets are £14+ b.f on sale
now from our online shop and very soon from normal ticket outlets.

Album
----------
We are almost two weeks onto the recording of our fifth album at our
new Castle Of Doom studio with the ever capable Tony Doogan at the
helm. All things going to plan we should be finished in plenty of time
for an early 2006 release. The album at the moment going to be called
Mr Beast but that could change though not if Dominic has anything to do
with it.
----------
Fuck yussssssssss!!
Just book two tickets.
I have a feeling it may clash with team sleep...but im not 100% sure.
But i don't care. :)

Pfft...
I bet they won't play ANY English dates, just because you live in England, and they hate you with a passion.
That's what Stuart said on the phone...anyway...last night....

Bad news kiddies (taken from drownedinsound):
Mogwai have cancelled their show at the ABC in Glasgow tomorrow. Full info below, straight from the PR's mouth...
Mogwai have been forced to cancel their show at the ABC tomorrow along with a date scheduled for St Petersburg this weekend. Drummer Martin Bulloch has developed a severe case of tendonitis and has been advised by doctors to cancel all future gigs until his condition improves.
Both Mogwai and the ABC are devastated by the news and wish to apologise to all of the fans who purchased tickets for the sold-out show.
Rather than simply postponing the opening night of the brand new venue, described by Billy Sloan as “one of Scotland’s best”, the ABC has re-programmed the night to offer ticket purchasers, invited guests and press the opportunity to come along and enjoy the opening night at the ABC for free.
Carefully designed to provide the next best thing to a live Mogwai gig, the venue has pulled in artists that include Mogwai’s favourite bands and DJs alongside a DJ set from Mogwai themselves.
The line up for tomorrow includes:
TROUT
Mogwai’s favourite band
ERRORS
Signed to Mogwai’s label, Rock Action
DJ sets from MOGWAI, NOJ (Mogwai’s tour DJ) and TWITCH & WILKES (Optimo)
In addition, tickets for tomorrow's gig can also be used to gain entry to the rescheduled Mogwai gig at the ABC later on in the year. Unfortunately, Mogwai are unable to confirm a date at this time, but we will update you as soon as the information is made available. Fans can also text keyword “MOGWAI” to 07766404142 to receive a SMS with info on the new gig date as soon as it’s announced.
Effectively offering all those with tickets the opportunity to enjoy two nights at the ABC, venue owners and the band hope that this will help to appease fans inconvenienced by this incredibly unfortunate and unavoidable situation.
The ABC can be found at:
330 SAUCHIEHALL STREET, GLASGOW, G2 3JA
