That's one scary psycho thriller video there. I'm going to have nightmares. Sequined dress guy is scary.
I'll be checking the youtube comments often now.
This has been one busy May month.

it doesn't seem like he's putting his all into even these film projects...they seem uninspired to me. if acting is what he's devoting his time to and really trying to "make it"...idk i just wonder where his head is at with this. I'm not trying to dismiss his creativity, or downplay the significance of his "art" but THIS is what you quit interpol, where you were widely regarded as genius, one of the greatest modern bass players, etc for? ...

I'm not his target audience.
I'm starting to think that he was born 30 years too late. I'm sure Andy Warhol would see his genius.
I'm not entirely sure of that. I think Warhol was more interested in people in the prime of their popularity and notoriety, not people who've fallen from popular grace.
Music fans, I really think Carlos doesn't care what you think of what he's doing right now. Though I'm not sure of his target audience, I'm pretty sure he's not doing it for you.

Carlos Dengler, one of the founding members of the New York City-based indie rock band Interpol, debuts a video installation project tonight, August 15th, at the 2feet12inches Gallery at White Rabbit on the Lower East Side. Dengler was the impeccably-dressed bassist for Interpol from 1998 until he left in 2010, and his solo show under the name of C. Zar will likely be similar to the warped VHS aesthetic that currently dominates his website, carlosdengler.com. Tonight's opening begins at 7 pm, followed by the screening at 8:30 pm, and topped off with a Q&A with Dengler. The installation will loop on a video station until September 15. The intimate White Rabbit space is likely to get crowded and a DJ will be spinning until 1 am, so RSVP to 2feet12inches[at]gmail[dot]com. - Allison Meier
