I'm still debating...and trying to find an alternative European website. I do order a lot of stuff on the Matador store though. They charge a lot for international shipping but not much more than other websites.

I know the vinyl comes with an mp3 of the original 2 tracks so I'm assuming they will be available for download as well ;)

That's not an excuse.. "Other companies/websites are doing it, too" is never a good business philosophy, IMHO. If you want to do better than others, you should deliver a better service at a better cost. Regular postal delivery today is rather cheap, quick, and gets everywhere without a real issue. I was just in NYC, where my aunt sent a letter to Europe for 2USD, and that was when she bought the stamp in some gift shop because she couldn't be bothered to look for a post office.. Where do Matador (and all other websites..) get the nerve of charging 5 times that price (and almost 2 times the price of the CD! I mean, really now, paiyng almost 18$ for an EP? Sorry, i'm not that rich) for a simple envelope delivery? Sorry if this is kinda OT, but this behavior prevents me from buying music i love, and leaves me with emotionless MP3s :\. Get your act together, Matador (Oh yeah, i just remembered that I'm still waiting for my Crimewaves MP3 from you guys, even after sending you like 10 emails with my transaction ID... Never mind i already got it elsewhere, so don't bother... Yeah, great service.. Totally worth the extra shipping price.)

it just means they're comparable, shipping isn't free, especially outside of the country, even if I were to send a package myself out of the country it'd be expensive and Matador isn't working for free. I understand the frustration of having to pay more, as I buy stuff out of the US and it's always expensive. It's really not something that can be avoided, and Matador's shipping prices within the US are very low, a lot lower than other sites. In the end they have to be making money, they are a business.

As i said, a CD isn't heavy. It doesn't cost 10$ to send out of the country. Especially not for a business that ships as much as Matador.

The weight isn't everything...size and distance are factors. If it isn't out of country of course it won't be that much, shipping was like $2.50 for me since I live in the country. It's not like Matador is keeping it all for themselves they have to pay the postal service or UPS, whatever they use, and still make profit. Otherwise what would be the point in even offering to order online.

Even eBay sellers (From the US) usually ship for less than what Matador and other sites are charging. They don't want to make a profit? Just goes to show you, that you can charge less if you want to, and still make money. Anyway, We're just messing up the thread... The best solution is just not to buy it from them, and look for a better site..
