Will they do some Turn on the Bright Lights anniversary shows? It would be rude not to...
Like sfive said, i think this was recorded while they were touring in south america.
I think they won't play any more shows until their next album, but in my opinion TOTBL anniversary deserves something special, i think it would be a good idea if they could release a special TOTBL edition with b-sides or live tracks.. or something like that, something for the fans while the band is working on the next album.

Ten years on and the emotion(s) is/are still intact for me
I remember perfectly when I first heard Turn On The Bright Lights
I wish they're going to do something particular for the anniversary, an unusual TOTBL edition would be fantastic yeah

It would be very very rude indeed - although I was anticipating such a tour would happen many years hence - a sort of 'Turn on the Stanah Stair-Lift' tour.
BTW - you make your own luck in this world Dan, lad.

Yes, yes and thrice yes - how about that XFM broadcast of their Barfly gig in 2001 - my cassette tape of this is wearing very thin (even though it had Dolby Noise reduction on it!)

I like how Daniel said at the end,"El Parlante Amarillo".
Speaking of yellow? Interesting name.

I would buy it and I would try my hardest to go to the anniversary shows if they decided to do so.

Not the same gig but out of curiosity I looked on youtube and there's a few songs from a 2002 London Barfly gig on there here http://www.youtube.c...h?v=8vr2OeWCuLc
Pretty cool anyway.
10 years! I feel old.

Oh I know - but me PC is powered by a hamster in a wheel chasing a lettuce leaf, though I do have some blu-tak, safety pins, knitting needles and an old ball of wool so I might get it uploaded quite soon.

Me toooo! After traveling to so many shows last year, a few anniversary shows would be a breeze. :D. The withdrawal is a bitch too. I could use a show. ;)

TOTBL is such an amazing album. I've never loved every single minute, every single moment of any album before like this one. Crazy.

Ditto on everything ;) this time last year I was planning for my March shows, the thought of no shows to look forwards to is brutal. Gained such a new appreciation for this album with last tour getting to hear a lot of it live Untitled live is one of my fave live tracks by 'Pol :D

Yeah, this time last year, I'd just found out that they were coming to San Antonio - and even stranger, the little town of Helotes - in April! I had no idea that later on, in the summer, I'd go to Indy and Detroit just to see them some more. Sigh...

Roland at Rocket Bar, 2002
As for a special edition of the album: I wouldn't be surprised to see one, but I will be surprised, tbh, if it includes anything really spectacular. Honestly, I don't know of that much that they've held back. As far as I know, there aren't that many (any?) undiscovered early tracks. I'm not that keen on re-buying for the umpteenth time on a different format something that I already have. Of course, I could be wrong, and I do like surprises.

On entering the stage, Sam took of a picture of us audience - (I'll be the georgous one with the spectacles :-))
They were broadcast on XFM a week or so later, the same night as their first Peel session - I was in slight turmoil at the time as I was worried the broadcasts would clash - luckily, XFM's output came after midnight when good old Peelie had finished.
I have a feeling that Peel mentioned, on the night, him receiving an e-mail from the band as they were listening to it. Tricks being played maybe?
They definitely also did NYC possibly also OB 2, Hands Away and Precipitate.
Definitely not played was SHTTA and ATTBSS. A fact established in correspondence with Mr. S a few years ago.
Best go and feed hamster, then, now renamed Popeye.
Great coverage from a year later too, I maybe one of those whooping in the background (actually, no!)

Didn't one of them (Daniel, possibly?) say that they weren't the kind of band that wrote an abundance of songs? I remember someone actually saying that they write what they need for an album and, as you say Tercat, there isn't a vault of unreleased work.

I vividly remember celebrating 10 years of Pearl Jam' s "Ten" - and that was even before TOTBL was recorded!
Now I feel old (but also happy 'cause my two most favourite bands are still around)
