Those lists are silly. That said, I think his lyrics are a mixed bag. He's penned some beautiful lines--very evocative, great images. But he's also penned lines that make me cringe--still--every time I hear them. It's all personal taste when it comes to lyrics, anyway.

Also, sometimes I think he's being funny and few people get the humor.

Tercat, my feelings exactly. Because some of his lyrics are so gorgeous, I find it hard to believe his tongue isn't squarely in his cheek when he comes up with others (like the mentioned "boring and stuff" :wacko: )

Ok, I guess that's reason but doesn't that line just completely set you in the scene of what the lyrics are about and a huge mix of emotions first hand, it just sounds like a love ballad from someone overdossing, instead of this guys 'derp banks must have run of things that rhymed with bluff' explanation. Meh just my opinion.

If you start analysing any lyricists' lyrics, you will find some 'weird'lyrics among what they've written and everyone has his/her sensibility and will receive their 'message' their way. Even genuises have their 'low' moments!
These lists are absurd as we all have our own perception of a track.
