Roughly six years ago, I joined the Interpol forums after the release of Antics. The internet was still a strange beast to me at the time, and the world of music was stranger still. The heady days of youth. Anyways, I started listening to Interpol compulsively and decided to join this forum. The Interpol-related area was largely amusing fluff, but the real spectacle was in the non-pol general section. Observing the member interactions for the first time was like being the new kid at summer camp, watching all the counselors get drunk at night and engage in various levels of debauchery. For the next few years I kept at being a lurker around here, seeing the often-comical discussions or banter that went on. Those kinds of days have mostly left these forums, along with the many colorful characters that inhabited this place, but it was undeniably enjoyable. And aside from these instances of unintentional hilarity, I was introduced to several great bands and artists that I would not have otherwise known about, had it not been for the pioneering efforts of the members of interpolnyc. As a gesture of my gratitude and appreciation for these fine individuals, I'm gonna list those members who left the greatest impact on me, no matter how long or brief their stay was on here. Some of these people are still keeping this place alive, bless their hearts. Apologies in advance if I butchered your name or I seemingly forgot to include you - this list is far from complete, and I sincerely believe every forum member is a delightful person in their own way:

Tercat
C'mere
Curepol
InterpolMOD1
Stella diver x
Ely
couirey (sp?)
TheNew
SlowlyChoking (never really got to thank him for all his top-notch recommendations)
Kid Amnesiac (ditto)
Rgon
Kaziu
the LOST
Mysterious Traveller
WootalexFTW
Cragster
Station to Station
Veronica Dreadful (always abrasive, endlessly entertaining)
Shred
pazcal
Claas
Florentino
Rawsuga
Jackl
Evy
cuppajoe
the arid desert
Pervert Mechanic
Not Thurston Moore Maybe
Jane Lane
rodanjazzjazz
thesonandtheheir
mini fonz
xpander
Ms Wilde
Mr Finch
nia
The Old Man/Daft Punk (if anyone remembers this guy, could he or she clarify if this person was one in the same? Never could tell, myself)
Peregrine/ryryan (sp?) (ditto Old Man/Daft Punk)
donisio (sp?)
Bedtime Stories (THIS fucking guy)

This whole post makes me feel nostalgic as hell, which I find bittersweet. I admit, most of these forum members' names I listed off the top of my head, while others I had to dig into the abyss of long-deserted threads to recall. If my words paint me as some kind of creeper, that was not my intent - just wanted to pay tribute to a few memorable people.

I understand if all of the above was bordering on tl;dr - I can't help but be sentimental in my ways, sometimes

Sometimes, I'm a bit nostalgic too...
I 'met' great persons here... some kinda changed my life or ways to view things, opening my mind.
This tribute is worthy.

I'd be flattered if the list wasn't roughly 80 percent 'tarded.

We love you for being discriminating. And thanks Novocaine'd.

And holy gawd I've been around this place a long time.

Why gee Novocaine'd. That was really a post! I always remember you cause of the trainspotting avy... even if you weren't very verbose over the years. I am definitely guilty of drunken posting, falling in love here, and now falling out and into something else entirely.. Those years (the 00's) will always be extra special and in some strange way related to Interpol...
Yes, Mod1 = Couirey
and Daft Punk/old man were the same.. i miss that guy. I don't feel the urge to post here much anymore, it's been the longest stretch of disinterest in this place, but i will always be nostalgic. I've also made some friends on here that are like sisters...Ely, i'm looken at you, kid.

Also, i think part of the problem is the invention of Facebook. Half of you are on there as well, and i think posting here much of the same shit i share on fb would be redundant at best.

I am aware that you are around, so i know better than to walk into any situation where you get to point out my trillions of flaws. Its funny that is our dynamic.. you're like my nerdy little brother that gets his kicks picking on me. :P

Just take your lack of inclusion to mean that, while you may not come across as very entertaining, you also don't come across as overly obnoxious. You're vanilla. Vanilla is good. I mean, it's no chocolate - It's not "sexy," but it's there. It exists, just like you do.

Well look. The BITCH is back.

haha. This is kind of freaky considering I've posted on this forum only a number of times in the last five or so years. I got this urge to come and have a look. My ears must have been burning. What exactly are you trying to say about me?

Chocolate isn't sexy. Lemon Sorbet is sexy. Mango Sorbet too. Fuck it. Just any kind of Sorbet.

I don't get "nostalgia" posts like this. They always seem like their only intention is to say "I'm cooler than most people because I've been here longer".It comes off being...twat-ish? I mean, it's nice to say that you miss those people, but couldn't you just PM them and say that? Or I assume they're on some other social media site you use. And then saying how great the board was "back in the day" is like saying anyone joining now is just a dumb asshole and will "never understand".

I know this post is probably going to be flamed but the few times I visit here, it just seems like all the people that were here "first" just try to ban together in a clique to reinforce they're cooler than everyone else.

Oh, man... you are NOT cool. The only thing less cool than claiming "first" is complaing about the people who do so - it just screams out "I wish I were cool!" Tough luck. You never will be.

the hell man, these days you are hysterical... maybe you always were but i don't think so... its like every post is golden. <3

I don't subscribe to the club of who was here first, but c'mon, it is easy to get attached to some people... we've technically been talking a while! which is gay.

Informal polling suggests I have always been funny/clever... my assumption is that your fluctuating blood alcohol level is to blame for your inability to notice this.
