I'd argue that without all The Strokes hype, and their major label deal, White Stripes never would have ended up in a postion to have as many people hear their music as they did. Obviously, they aren't overly similar acts, musically speaking, but when it comes to marketing, record companies could sell anything stripped down (or just not over-produced) as part of a "garage rock revival." So yeah, I'd say "Is This It" is the more important album.

i respectfully disagree with you...JACK WHITE has stage prescense to spare and meg has one big candy colored drum set. happy that i saw then in brooklyn's keyspam ballpark. a few years back.

As much as I like Jack White, the guy is one big stuck-up goofball. I'm with the Lost on this one.
