Well, they change keyboardists for every album's tour, so I don't think that had anything to do with it...
Yes, I'd love a live DVD from them. That something new and something old idea sounds great.

The Eurockennes show is amazing, end of the story.
I think the live experience in itself is perfection. Every time I see them in concert it seems better than before because nothing can really beat being there and experiencing it with the crowd. I would like every concert I attended to be filmed, but that's not going to happen.
Or at least thats how I feel.

I don't imagine Interpol would want to release footage of a recording they didn't have any control over when there is already a perfectly good copy available online.
I would imagine if they were going to release a concert it would have a chosen director and have to be mixed exactly the way they wanted. I would like a to an Official Blu Ray too but I just don't see it happening. I think whilst it's a nice gimmick to release a few live video's of tracks when it boils down to it they want people to hear the songs as they were completely intended to be heard. On the records.

Online there are just bootlegs available, is different if they release a festival show on dvd.
And about the copyright for live broadcastings i know exactly how it works, the band has been paid in advance by the tv channel to let em film the show. To release a video of the show they should just find an agreement to divide the proceeds.
I know that maybe they prefer to release a dvd from a non festival show, but some of their best live material comes from the festivals.

Well, The Black Ep and the Interpol: Live in Astoria in EP were both recorded live, so its apparent that they're not opposed to releasing live recordings.

It seems that this idea doesn't have much support from fans or even the band. But what harm could it do? What do you all think?
