We Need To Hear "Specialist" More Often...

Actually, come to think of it, the fact that they are giving this song away to anyone who orders a ticket for the next shows, might be a hint that it's going to make a comeback? What do you think? :)

We do need a more current Specialist on You Tube, though I could live the rest of my life just watching that sweatfest from Cologne, Germany back in the day. You know the one I mean ;)

Very true. Too bad "The New" wasn't ready for their show in Berlin :(.

Yeah that worked great, because the band had no prior intention on playing the song until the heard *you* screaming it.
#1 irritation of seeing this band live is the delusional stella and specialist screamers, neither one of you are doing any of us any favors.

I agree. I'll admit that I committed this foul once but I realized how lame I was being and would never do such a thing again.

I don't know about it live. I heard it back on the Antics tour and the version in Leeds doesn't sound too different. There's just a lot lost in the live version -- the guitars are weak and the speed doesn't really lend itself to the song. I don't care for it live much, but that studio version just nails everything.
Meh, but maybe I just like the song tucked away in the Interpol discography.
Here's hoping they play more of these types in the future -- A Time to Be So Small, Song Seven, etc.

Now I wonder if they're going to play it at U.S. shows.

Well, I screamed for The New in Antwerp, But I did it when they played games with us setlist followers and played Length of Love first (and for a second I believed instead of...)Almost got a heart attack at that point. So i did scream...

Being a fanatic but not a moron, I screamed specialist ONCE right before The New started (That would have been the only moment they would have played it). As soon as Brad played the intro, I immediately realized what a "treat" the New in 2011 is and enjoyed the rest of the gig.
I don't see what bothers you in that. Now, drunken guy, first time he sees the band and scream "STELLAAAAAA" off the top of his lungs at the end of every song, that's annoying.
Other thing: Brussels, last time around, OLTA tour. End of the encore. Lights stay on... people were going bananas and screaming all sorts of stuff. Band comes out for a SECOND encore and plays untitled (not on the setlist). Now, who tells you the band will stick 100% to the setlist? (Not that that would have happened in Antwerp, audience sucked)

I was also by Paul's left, by the speaker and in front of Brad.
I was by the bus, too, lol; I was wearing all black, standing by that table and talking to the tall truck driver with the long white hair and Dean, the tour manager. He was really nice, seemed happy and entertained by our little town. Paul and Daniel came out for a few minutes and were very gracious, signed a few things, said hello and took some photos. I didn't want anything signed, I just wanted to say hi, tell them they did great, and welcome them to SA and to the country cause that venue was WAAAY out in the country, haha, Such a change from Coachella, I am sure! Brad, too, was very nice, really kind of shy and School of Seven Bells was very impressive as well! I could definitely see myself listening to them in the car, or on my iPod. It was a great night. I was floating on air. Still am. ^_^
