Hahaha. I don't think PJB thought it was 'cool'.

Yeah I like the album. It was pretty unique, nothing like it out there. Paul is a beast, everything he writes is masculine. Very well crafted, great instrumentation. No complaints.

As far as the album feel, well, again, it is different. I can't quite describe it. It isn't mopey, not energetic, for some reason I am left with the word, "encouraging."

And come on, did anyone see the Julian Plenti covers of HORSE WITH NO NAME and INTO THE WHITE

bad ass!!!!!!!

ive been singing horse with no name at karaoke ever since lol

I'd love to see what part of JP's work you view as maculine!

I really wish I would've had the chance to see one of his shows.

Girl on the sporting news has changed my life.. All the fun that we have always makes me think of the fun I have with my friends. I just love the entire album, really.

I hope he'll do another solo record someday, including a tour so you all can see him.

I definitely did.
Here's an excerpt from my review of Is... Skyscraper:

"Overall, Is… Skyscraper works better – repetition and all – than Interpol’s most recent (and best) album"
(Our Love to Admire is the recent album in question, btw. Yes, I also liked OLTA a lot.)

"JP is ..." was my favourite album of 2009. I loved the show in Cologne (Ger), specially the Pixies-Cover.

And I "borrowed" JP's album artwork for my own "best of 2009 cd" that I usually make ervery year for a few friends of mine:

(Oh, I now that looks silly, but I like it...)

Totally awesome album, and magnificent live. I hope he'll do a second album. That Toronto song was promising enough!

I really liked it at first but then it grew on me and I loved just about the entire album, I felt it was really overlooked and underrated when it came out, so hopefully once Interpol finishes touring, Julian Plenti will return for another round of touring and recording.

To tell the truth I wasn't that fond of the album. I like the live sound though, now Skyscraper is really growing on me.

Bought the cd and really enjoy it. Much lighter fare than Interpol but that`s only to his advantage. I too hope to see him live as JP.
