What does everyone think of Madrid Song? I like the use of the sampled Felicia Pearson interview. The manipulation of certain parts, like where she says "uh" or "huh" reminds me of "Come Out" by Steve Reich. See: http://en.wikipedia....ome_Out_(Reich) . Not sure what to make of the "Come have at us, we are strong lyric." Sounds kind of like a soccer/football chant.

I think he's referring to having strength in life through difficult times, because in the video of Felicia Pearson she's talking about the horrific things she witnessed growing up. The lyrics fit with what she was saying in the interview.

I like that interpretation. Where can I find the F. Pearson video?

This song seems very simple, but I really love it. Its just so beautiful and makes me reflect on some of the aspects in my life. It makes me thing of some of the people in my family as well as some friends of mine.

Yes, it has a really reflective quality. I like the way her "uh" utterance is manipulated to sound very musical. And I like the sample of the elephant (a symbol of wisdom).

Was listening to this song again today - noticed samples of breathing and a heartbeat.

I've always wondered why it's called Madrid Song. Anyone can tell me?
