In 2006, David, along with is brother Nuno, had a project, a band, with David on the bass/synths/programming and Nuno on the drums. They were searching for a lead singer, and so trough internet they met Billy, a vocal singer/guitar player.
Things were rolling as the band kept rehearsing and giving some small gigs in the local area. Many different influences are behind the band; the band never had a formal genre; and maybe thats why it took two break-ups before the band arrived at a consensual understanding. Joy Division, interpol, Foals, Cut city, White Lies, Editors, Pixies, Bauhaus, the Killers, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Nine inch nails, Aperfect circle, Tool; these are some of the different influences that are somehow connected with the bands style of creating music.
In 2007 another member joined the band, David joined as a lead guitar player; and so the band changed a bit, in a way that they had now more music filling space than before; keeping that unique tone of the band, but in the middle of 2008 David had to left and Pedro ( thecode ) came in, bringing some special tone into the songs.
Youll find different lights and colors within their music; some darker and some brighter, some more stranger than others and some simpler.
Now the band is preparing its first release; mainly grouping songs and rehearsing/discovering new ones. David (bass) keeps other projects along with uni_form: Umbigu , Zero , Deadboy; as Billy does with: Voxmachina and Pedro with TheCode."

Yeah, I already saw them live and they have some similarities to SWR. They presented darker songs, others more brilliant, some more strange, some more simple, remind me very much Cut City.
The voice is very, very similar to a singer of a band of some English music genre called post-punk (word used repeatedly here and elsewhere that talk about music with a touch of eighties).
For the first time I saw a portuguese post-punk rock band in a concert. Thank God!

I'm really into this song at the moment. Maybe it's just me.
The band is Brilliant Colors. They're an all-female three-piece from San Francisco, so there's some similarity to Grass Widow on a surface level, but their tunes have a somewhat different vibe--a little more mid-80s-ish jangle punk or something. I dig. Seems they get a "just okay" from most people who hear them, but I think a lot of people haven't heard them, so... here's the song...

Well. It's definitely me! I've never heard them before now and I tapped my toe like a good 'un so thank you for the heads up.
Definitely mid 80's jangle and wouldn't seem out of place on the NME C86 tape, possibly.
Tercat - have you heard of Girls at our Best? I would bet a half-decent bottle of South American Merlot that you'd like them...
