I posted about this on a few related threads regarding Carlos. I noticed last week that Carlos' website has been taken down. Today when I checked it out again the following message was posted:

"Carlos Dengler's website is being recomposed, and will return in January 2009"

I'm wondering if anyone here knows why the website will be down for the next three months? I kind of liked Carlos' spin on some commercials already out there and it was nice to see that Carlos actually scored some stuff (such as for HBO). I have not really heard any news on Carlos since the tour ended. Just wondering...

Most likely Carlos is working on some things and would rather have nothing up until he can present his latest work.

Thanks cuppajoe! Yeah, Carlos clearly stated on his site (before it was taken down) that the commercials and some of the film clips were his own interpretations. Carlos did however compose some music for the HBO Voyer short series which was out a year ago.

Just found it strange that a specific date was given that the site would be back up. Hope it is just a sign that Carlos is very busy with his side projects.

I think they gave that specific date as it may be the release date of something or Carlos wants to launch something in that particular month.
I would have probably done the same. he is a perfectionist and as Tercat said he'd rather have nothing than something incomplete on his site.
they are on a break so I would assume Carlos is now focusing 100% on his solo/side projects for a while

I thought the site was having server problems when I tried checking things out on Google Chrome, then I opened the site up on Internet Explorer and I could check everything out....I forgot Chrome isn't supported by all websites yet. :blush:


I'm impressed with the music selections he's done. Same with the film music, the commercials are not too shabby.

If you read his "about" section you can download a PDF file with a longer bio on Carlos...it says that with TOTBL, Antics and OLTA combined they have sold nearly 2 million copies....(worldwide into account), that's something we didn't have from the other "Charts" thread...I guess the thread creator could update the info there as well.

Overall it looks like Carlos is doing just fine :)

EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out. I guess I have to use internet explorer instead of firefox.

Exaclty what I meant by saying the goth Carlos is back.
I don't think he went back to his previous style of course.
But choosing this photo as his main image means a lot, it is this publ image he chose.

But then maybe it's just a good portrait put there, because the photographer was ok with it and that h didn't charge much, or he's just waiting for a new photo session to post his nowadays face.

Yeah, he didn't have any photoshoots with the cardigan-wearin' white-streak-stylin' version of himself he had last, if he had it. So maybe he just wanted to get rid of the facial hair image. Can't say I blame him. ;) I can't imagine though that he'd put up such a gothy picture though if he didn't want that image back.

I guess it does seem unlikely to us Interpol fans, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who have no idea who he is.
