the fact that a band like My Chemical Romance exists and thrives is insane to begin with, so I can see how something like this can happen. Its a crazy world STS.

most covers are outrageous. this one is just too much

great news from The Cure myspace, though we sort of knew already

"Subject:
OCTOBER 13TH... ALBUM!!!
Body:
IS THE LATEST RELEASE DATE OF OUR
(AS YET UNTITLED)
NEW ALBUM...

AUGUST 13TH WILL SEE THE RELEASE OF OUR 4TH 'MIX 13' SINGLE
'THE PERFECT BOY'
B/W ANOTHER 'NOT ON THE ALBUM' SONG
'WITHOUT YOU'

SEPTEMBER 13TH WILL SEE THE RELEASE OF AN EP
COMPRISING THE FIRST 4 SINGLES
'THE ONLY ONE' / 'FREAKSHOW' / 'SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD' / 'THE PERFECT BOY'

*SURPRISE REMIXERS*!!!
(sighs... remembers those pre-web golden days of surprise... )

ALL ROYALTIES FROM THIS EP RELEASE
(EVEN THOSE DUE THE MIGHTY 'U' WE HOPE!)
WILL GO TO...
WELL WE HAVEN'T QUITE DECIDED YET!

SINCE WE GOT BACK FROM AMERICA
I HAVE BEEN MIXING PARIS
AND CHARLOTTE
AND NYC SHOWS FOR TV/DVD

AND I NEED A BIT MORE TIME
TO PUT THE FINISHING TOUCHES TO THE ALBUM...
TO DECIDE ON WHAT SONGS MAKE THE FINAL CUT...
AND IN WHAT ORDER...
(frowns... wonders if a 17 song 80 minute album is a double... ?)

SO...

Have I told you how wonderful I think you are?

*no autographs*

I'll be on your hatelist by tomorrow, Kaz. ^_^
I take my golden moments where I can get them, though. Few and far between.

As for the 'anti-RH' thread.... 'Don't vote for them, you'll only encourage them" :P

Aww, Ely it's not a personal slight. Truly. I wouldn't.
I would rather bands who need cold, hard cash get it over indie monsters (take that how you will) who don't.

I see your point and you are right, but what should they do? just stop making music not to earn money anymore as someone needs it more than them? sell all their ugly t-shirts to raise money?
I think they are much more harmless than other monsters anyway. they are nice people that care about their fans and genuinely love the music they do. but I guess we could go on forever.
and of course I won't take it personally darling.
as for the environment thing, sorry but I'm totally with them on that, though I agree that Thom is a bit too much sometimes when he starts preaching and stuff
the other day I was telling off our office runner as he always leaves all the lights on, and my PA candidly said"Ely, you should stop obsessing over Radiohead before you turn into a green warrior too..."that just made me laugh.
I don't know, I just adore them. I basically grew up listening to their music and I have memories for each of their songs. I guess I got to the point that, without being fanatical, I'm losing objectivity when it comes to them

however more news
Universal Music signs Rolling Stones deal

I grew out of Radiohead when I realised very dull indie boys droned on about them interminably.

I dunno, really. I means it's all very 'trendy' *insert outmoded cool term here* to be eco-conscious and not make CDs and rely on downloads and all but it just doesn't really wash with me.

Like all those Mccartney types. 'Oh, I don't eat anything with a face.' Great, but what about those people who can't, 'Grow a few veg in a window box and have a few chickens about the place, you know, they take up virtually no room at all, m'deah!' as suggested by Lady Somebody recently. ie. the rest of the world unlike Pearl Lowe et al and their frightful cool 'smoking room' caravans while people have to actually live in them out of necessity.

I agree about switching the lights off, but I don't need rawk starz to tell me so. (Actually just switched off bathroom light, left on by heartless polar bear clubbing OH... so Thom can give me that Brownie Point) ;)

As for the music, others do it better for me, I'm afraid. Ack, lots of people like them, I don't like arena bands and 'easy listening' a la Mouldplay/Coldsick...so I'm outvoted, which is fine.

I just think one only needs so much money. Despite what the nouveau riche jet set tell us, whilst wearing said ugly shirts and driving Bentleys. 'I'm rich, me filly... but ho so in touch with me roots, don'tcha know? Pass the filet mignon kebab, there's a minx...'

Otherwise nasty things happen.

Like one turns into Bono over night f'r example.

Hell, I read Vogue and it made me green. End of rant. ^_^

we have no clue.
y'know, the Olympics were going to be held in
the good ol' of USA and in HOUSTON in 2012
but it was changed to some shitty little European country.
(sorry to all my European amigos.)
It definitely pissed us off. I mean, we were
already getting ready for the big event.
and the CHINESE get it, but not us?

You'd never know it by the youthful vibe they still have going on. Kim Gordon rocked her ass off on stage when i saw them recently.

Getting a smell of the tracks from Chris Cornell and Timbaland's colabo...

It's shit, of course.

Not cohesive at all, as I'm sure a poster's said.
