^^really? how come? you should try and go darling....you may find yourself loving a band that you weren't that sure about and the other way around. some shows I've been to were just priceless

All the bands I would like to see go to Kansas City, about an hour and a half from where I live. Which would be alright, if they didn't come during 3rd hour on a Tuesday.
I'll add Explosions in the Sky to the list. I'm not the biggest fan of their music, but post-rock stuff should be cool to see live.

I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm quite lucky to live in London, though most times I have to be very quick and get tickets asap as everybody seems to come here from all over the country and Europe to see their favorite bands and tickets sell out very quickly.
I'm not a massive fan of EITS either but I'd be very curious to see them as well

1. The Clash
2. Joy Division

3. The Damned (original lineup)
4. The Cramps
5. The Ramones
6. The Left Banke
7. The Smiths
8. Ride
9. Slowdive
10. Swervedriver (going in 2 weeks)
11. My Bloody Valentine (going to NYC show)
12. Comsat Angels
13. The Sound
14. For Against (please - this summer, NYC!)
15. The Replacements
16. Husker Du
17. The The
18. Gary Numan ('79)
19. Adorable
20. The Kinks
21. The Wipers
22. Ennio Morricone (I'm still bummed I missed him at Radio City :( )
23. The Shadows (The DVD of their final tour helps ease the pain)
24. Johnny Cash
25. Catherine Wheel (a reunion would seem feasible in the coming years and they probably wouldn't miss a beat)

Those are on mine - but c'mon Shred, you're a Chameleon's fan right? The Chameleon's were killer live, they are definitely on my list.

What Mod1 said! :P I've seen them 9 times between 2000 and 2002. I've seen Mark Burgess solo as early as 1994. I would've loved to have seen them in the 80's, but I was too much of a U2 dork to know any better.

check this out, Oct. 2002 outside of Knitting Factory, NYC. You'll never see a pic like this again:'

however, another recent band that I haven't managed to see yet: The Duke Spirit.

Dukes are great, check them out for sure. Liela is one classy front-lady. I saw them back in February at Mercury Lounge and the douche from the Kooks was standing in front of me with his big dumb hat.

Wished I'd been born 20 years earlier.

Missed these 2 bands when they played at the Mosaic Music Festival because I couldn't find anyone to go with:
Kings Of Convenience in 2006
Yo La Tengo last year

I'm about 10 years off myself. I totally missed the late 70's into the early 80's. My first gig was '81, but I was not allowed to go to shows at 11-12 years old unless my brother took me.

I was supposed to go see The Who with my brother in '81 or '82 and The Clash opened the gig. I'm still pretty crushed over Strummer's death.

I have seen Siouxsie x2 (good at the time, wouldn't bother now), The Four Tops (I was a child, it was at some tacky resort) and The Fall (8 songs for 8 quid, waste of money but the fight was worth watching) and Banhart (with AATJ and the typing woman who JLM says is one of the Coco Rosie women, he was very sweet when we talked to him. We felt sorry some rude gay blokes had shouted mean crap at him. He was very humble...)

Lots of the others the man has seen.

He tells me The Cramps are bored as fuck on stage. We could have seen them but the 'bored factor' put me off, a lot. I wish we had gone...

The Smiths...yeah...

haha! I had the same thing happen when I saw the Fall. It was more like 2 songs, though. It was MES's 40th birthday, he was pissed off his tits. The band came out and started playing and he wouldn't take the stage, so the first track ended up being an instrumental. Then he came out, started messing with everyone's gear, howled a few words and then gave the mic stand to some girl in the audience as a gift. Then he fucked off and the band followed suit very shortly. The Bush Tetras opened that gig and they were effin great!

SUEDE, but I saw Brett Anderson and he played a few Suede songs

I saw Suede on their farewell tour which was amazing, and also on the Head Music one, which wasn't. ^_^

Also saw the Tears in Sheffield, basically just to see Bernard Butler and Brett Anderson together. It was worth it, I was on the front row and the two of them sat on the edge of the stage to play Living Dead. One of my all time favourite gigging moments.

My missed show would have to be Interpol at the Social in Nottingham (tiny venue), as I wasn't really into them enough at the time to go on my own.

Also:

Manics Holy Bible era
The Smiths (my friend saw them on the Queen is Dead tour, how lucky)

2. The Doors
3. Led Zeppelin
4. Johnny Cash
5. The Kinks
6. T.Rex
7. Bob Dylan

The Clean

they still tour every few years, in the States at least. they play in their own country every year or so too. they still BURN - age has done nothing to lessen their intensity  :) i won't say how many times i've seen them play

on the top of my list - Nirvana. and Faith No More. & there would be a fair few classical composers i'd give a limb to see if time-travel could be arranged  especially Mahler, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach ... Liszt might be good for a laugh.

i'd also love to see Guided By Voices, the Beta Band, Clinic, a c acoustics in their prime, Nada Surf and Girls Against Boys. oh, and Elbow, and Yo La Tengo. and many many more obscure-one-or-two-release indie noise bands ... like Quickspace or Prolapse.

was lucky enough to see Suede at a fanclub gig (thanks to an internet friend i'd never met who couldn't go - who happened to be in Japan same time as me - & the gig was in London - so many variables there that could've meant i almost missed it  ) they were great. it was after Head Music, but they were just about to / had broken up, & so they played all the old tunes. terrific musicians - pretty much bleeding on their instruments!

+ i'm so happy i saw Sebadoh. massive understatement to say it changed my life. & Lou Barlow gave me a beer! but mostly they were uber-intense & full-on.

That's another one i missed. I went to some other show instead, can't remember which one. Turns out Jack White appeared as a guest at the Dylan show I skipped. Dumbest mistake of my life.

you don't know how much I envy you for seeing them on their farewell tour!!

I've never liked the Tears. they only did a couple of good tracks, but I got tired of them after just a few listens
I wasn't a big fan of Brett Anderson solo album either, but he is such a great performer that made me enjoy them all new songs live. he re-arranged them all in a slightly faster version

I wouldn't mind seeing a Beethoven gig..so can I join you?

Oh what a shame. It must have been their farewell show at Shea Stadium I think. This is off the top of my head though so I might be wrong.
