i like the pictures, the live shit, and MOST of the discussion that goes on here...but there is absolutely no thread that goes unseen and uncommented by the moderators. SO WHAT if something is mentioned more than once? you really explect people to thouroughly search the fucking board to make sure they arent repeating something that was said a few months ago?

come on. every single time i see a good thread, it is disturbed halfway down by some mod who spends WAY too much time on this board saying "if you searched, you would see that there is already a thread about this in the other forum"

i hate seeing people start a thread with "i dont know i this has been mentioned" or "i searched but i cant find it"
because it just proves that everyone here is scared of "mods"

get a life and just allow people to talk about a good band without making useless authorities piss on somebody.

this thread will get deleted although i am sure its the only one that will garner genuine replies from people.

jsut to make sure it doesnt get deleted ill mention that i really love paul's hair and eyes because they are DrEamY and i love his deep voice.

erm, if you don't like it, don't read it and get away from this sucky board my friend.

not all interpol fans are as sophisticated as you are, so bear that in mind please. there are some morons in here and some retards, one example of stupid lame asses is me myself. so yeah, see what you wanna do, but be careful what you say. not everyone is that tolerant.

good luck.

Hmmm, I like to think of the MODS more as event planners than "authorities". The best time is had by a guest (which would be us) when someone else takes responsibility for the organizing and crowd control. They're just people you know. They all seem okay to me. I'd buy 'am all a beer. Without administration this board would be as useless as say, the yahoo Interpol group. All we get from that shit is links to porn sites. I say let the thread closing commence! Just my genuine opinion.

Um..obstacle Rob... I hate to break it to you, but the mods are usually right when they lock a thread because it's already been done. There have been times when I disagreed with their reasoning, but for the most part, I like that they keep the hullaballoo cleared out around here. I've seen other forums go completely to shit because people just reposted the same things repetitively.

But, hey, guess what? I love Paul's hair, too. And his DrEamy eyes. :D

It would just fill this place up with dying threads if the same thing was posted over and over. It's better to put the thread to use that the subject has already been discussed in before. I don't see a reason to have contempt for the mods.

I'm not really sure how that last line will keep anything from getting deleted, but hey. I think this would fit better in the rants and raves section.

[...]

^^ That only means that they're doing a good job!

And it's easy to check if some topic has already been discussed -> just press the SEARCH button,
if what you want to talk about is already on the board you can add your reply there and renew the attention of the viewers. Simple and no big deal. ;)

You see, no control because the MODS are not online. Now this will become a "Paul has beautiful flaxen locks and mesmerizing sapphire-like peepers thread!   To quote the lovely lyricist, "and I am all for it"...VVV awe look at him blushing down there  !

in response to the original poster, i'm sure interpol would be disappointed in reading this thread alone!

I've noticed lately that some people think the mods are somehow not normal members. Yeah, we try to keep the place organized and I guess we have some authority in that regard, but mostly we're just normal fans like pretty much everyone else on the board. Most of us were regular members for years before we became mods.

This is the rants and raves section, and you're entitled to your views, so there's no reason to close this thread. We don't just close or delete threads arbitrarily.

If you look at other messageboards on other bands and topics, they also have no tolerance for posting repetitive topics. They have search portals just like this one. I just want to know, among other things, why this is so hard to put in keywords and hit search. I personally have stopped myself from posting repetitive topics by searching and actually learned a lot about the topic I was gonna write about in the process.
Pretty much the rules are clear on this and as a user it's pretty annoying to have people bellyache over a simple thing to do over and over. As far as the mods doing their job, to paraphrase Ordell Roby in Jackie Brown, it's a clear cut case of you or them and you best believe it ain't gon be them.

Somehow I think Interpol (if they actually read this forum) would be far more appalled by some of the attitudes and behaviors of members. I get the feeling they would appreciate that some people(mods) are willing to be here keeping this place tidy and structured. We're here to help and enjoy/discuss the band. That is all.

Thank god we're here to delete all the posts that end up...
"Lyke, OMG I <3 Paul."
"I know, he's so dreamy."
"Hey, STFO you groupies!"
"LOL Interpol is so gay".

Personnally, this IMB is ok and I don't feel retrained in any way. I get all the information I want and even more. And When I don't if something has already been posted, if I'm too lazy to hit search button, I just PM a mod ie someone who's on the board since a long time. That's cool and I make friends too this way.
Sure I've seen some people reply to post on a less than courteous way, and they were not even mods.
I think this crisis is a good reason to take a look at ourselves and at this IMB.
As for the mods, Someone has to do the dirty work and thank god, it's not me!!!!!
So people relax and enjoy this free expression space, ok?
