Psychedelia, shoegaze.
"Last Day in Bouville" and "Carnival" are my faves.
They're opening for Creepoid, Quilty, and Young Adults in Boston. Holy crap, I wish I still lived there.

There are SO MANY new bands right now. You just have to look in different places, and of course it depends on what you're into. I've discovered loads of new bands recently. A few that stand out right at this moment (after a few glasses of wine) are Mr. Gnome and Kids on a Crime Spree.

A lot of people are not too happy with him after his Pitchfork interview.

"You don’t know how happy it makes me that the days of the record store are coming to an end. $20 for an LP?
Do you remember going to the record store and not getting what you want because there was no other place to get it?
Now we can get it all for free, and I think that’s wonderful. There was always something really depressing to me
about record stores and music equipment stores. So I’m glad they all have little ‘closed’ signs on their doors now." -John Maus

Oh noes.

John Maus is a pretty weird guy, so it doesn't surprise me. I like his music though.

That's what I call bad timing, discovering The Music just after they've played their farewell shows.
The most impressive new bands I've seen live so far this year have been These Are End Times and Y Niwl on the Lake stage at Latitude.

That's how I feel as well. The advent of the hipster culture makes it even worse. lol

That was such a great night. Shores opened instead of Nothing, though.

Interpol fans might want to check out Australian band Cameras. Expect male and female vocals, Gretsch guitars, keys and synth, driving beats.
