The important question is, are you going to Anderlecht after all?

Yes, I'll be there tonight. I got tickets to go up to Liverpool as well for our encounter at the end of this month. I want sweet revenge.

When y'all start using your feet regularly in Grid Iron, then call it football.

Hopefully Chelsea beat Liverpool out of the Champions League group stages, as they are the_most_boring team in football. Watching them flounder around for goal scoring opportunities on Match Of The Day is the weekly lowlight of that programme.

All the other teams can fuck right off.

Interesting round of fixtures tonight, I'm hoping that Joaquin can deliver his full potential and help his Andalucian side beat the 'Pool. Any more European success for them would just be sickening.

Oh, and jackl, how's Wayne Bridge's recuperation from injury going? I was at the ground when it happened and it was a terrible blow, hopefully he's on the road to recovery now (especially if he's going to plying his trade on the green, green grass of SJP come January).

As far as I'm concerned, Real getting owned made my football-related night.

Real was overwhelmed tonight, they should decrease the pay when they loose, and the same strrategy for every teams.

That was a pleasant surprise. Aside from that, there was little else to really raise the eyebrows throughout the night. Although the Rangers-Porto contest would have made a good watch.

Were Sunderland to use that philosophy the players would be paying the club by now.

To think that I had almost started to gather respect for you aswell, oh the shame.

Nah, i was at the match when we played you the other week. Fletcher's indifference aside, you's looked your usual threatening selves.

Fletcher is overrated by Ferguson, imo. But more than that, what worries me is that United's gameplay for the last couple of seasons is so stale. I'm not a fan of this current system, tbh. It's great when Rooney is on form, and drifting inside, but the main problem is Van Nistelrooy, who's still not as good as he was about two seasons ago. Lone strikers need a little finesse and sharpness of mind. Ruud's seemingly lost that edge. Plus, the whole system is over-reliant on overlaps, crosses and getting bodies into the box, which can become cumbersome and easily nullified. United seem to find it very difficult to cut teams open through the middle, a la Arsenal (who still play easily the most attractive football in the league, imo, the loss to 'Boro included; Arsenal could have won that match in the first half). Doesn't help that Scholes is a shadow of the lovely player he once was, either.

Yeah, I agree with that. I think part of your current problem with regards to midfield can also be compared to the problems Wenger suffered defensively when players like Keown, Adams, Winterburn and Dixon neared the end of their careers. Scholes isn't the player he once was, but he is still relied on to produce moments of magic when required. Whilst prospects like Ronaldo offer a lot of hope for the future, performers such as Miller and Fletcher point to a more average middle of the park.

We need Steven Gerrard, and Steven Gerrard needs us.

*ahem

But yeah, Ronaldo and Rooney are still keeping the ol' torch burning. And our defence isn't too bad. Ruud'll still be good for goals as well, if not for the old magic he brought to his general forward play (remember his nutmegging Sol Campbell, then lofting over Seaman, at Highbury a while back? Beautiful...). Knowing United (altho', post-Glazer, I don't know if that's even a correct statement anymore), there'll be one or two more big signings coming in, too.

I have dreamed with an United with Owen, Gerrard & Lampard!!!

btw: I don't like the United's goalkeepers, Howard & Carrol...well I prefered to Barthez, and what can I say about Schmeichel!!! :D

The defence is Ok, althought maybe Nesta could help to Ferdi

The middle, it's Ok, Ryan, Roy, Christiano...very good!

The forwards...I think Wayne have to learn a lot yet, Ruud is amazing!!! (I think with Owen or Shevchenko they could be really frightful!!!) :D
